Deoxythymidine metabolism in avian erythroid cells.

چکیده

The ability of dividing and non-dividing cells of the avian erythropoietic series to phosphorylate ["Hjdeoxythymidine and [*H]uridine has been studied. Enzyme levels of deoxythymidine kinase were also assayed. Both dividing and immature non-dividing erythroid cells phosphorylated uridine to undine triphosphate (UTP). However, only cells able to synthesize DNA could phosphorylate deoxythymidine to the triphosphate; also these cells were the only ones to show detectable deoxythymidine kinase activities.

miR-451 Up-regulation, Induce Erythroid Differentiation of CD133+cells Independent of Cytokine Cocktails

Objective(s): Erythropoiesis is regulated by some extrinsic and intrinsic factors as microRNAs (miRNAs). miRNAs are endogenously small non-coding regulatory RNAs which play vital roles in the variety of cellular fate, critical processes; growth, apoptosis, metabolism, survival of the cells and specially differentiation. Several miRNAs such as miR-16 and miR-451 have been shown to be correlate...

Differentiation of Mouse Yolk Sac Cells to Erythroid Cells in The Presence of Erythropoietin

Purpose: Yolk sac hematopoietic stem cells (YS-HSC) have two dominant characteristices: a larger reproductive capacity and the absence of the expression of MHC associated antigens. Therefore, these cells are promising candidates for transplantation, cell therapy and gene manipulation. There are controversial reports on the effects of erythropoietin (EPO) on the differentiation of yolk sac cells...

ts-oncogene-transformed erythroleukemic cells: a novel test system for purifying and characterizing avian erythroid growth factors.

An emerging, important characteristic of many leukemic cell types is their altered dependence on and/or response to hematopoietic growth factors [6, 17]. In mammals, many of these growth-regulatory proteins have been purified and the respective genes molecularly cloned [16, 26], but the mechanism by which they regulate growth and differentiation of normal hematopoietic precursors is still poorl...

DNA polymerase in avian erythroid cells.

The level and properties of DNA polymerase activity assayable in extracts of avian erythroid cells was studied. The enzyme was detectable in the dividing cells (erythroblasts) of the erythropoietic series and also the immature non-dividing erythrocytes. It could not be assayed in mature erythrocytes. Investigations showed that activity began to decline at the time of the last cell division of t...

Evaluation of hematopoietic cells and myeloid/erythroid ratio in the bone marrow of the pheasant (Phasianus colchicus)

In order to study the normal hematopoiesis, cellular components and myeloid/erythroid (M/E) ratio in the bone marrow of the pheasant (Phasianus colchicus), bone marrow samples were collected from the proximal tibiotarsus bone of 16 clinically healthy adult pheasant. The bone marrow smears were stained using the Giemsa stain. The results indicated that the development and formation of b...
